Hello! We're so glad to be here with you on another Friday. What plans do you have for the weekend? We hope the weather is lovely for you.

Here's today's WordMaster!

EVERYTHING / EVERYONE      万事/皆

Everything means all things, or all the things (in the box, that I bought, etc.).
Everyone means all people, or all the people (who work for IBM, on the train, etc.).

(Be careful: Everything  and everyone are used with a singular verb. For example, we do NOT say, "Everything ARE expensive.")

すべての物事のことをeverything、すべての人々のことをeveryoneと言います。

注意 : Everythingeveryoneは、単数扱いなので、動詞もそれに合わせます。 Everything ARE expensive.とは言わないので気をつけましょう。

1. (looking at a restaurant menu)
Everything is so expensive. I think I'll just have coffee.

2. a: Will everything fit in the trunk of your car?
b: No, we'll have to put some things in the back seat.

3. Welcome to the office, James. Let me introduce you to everyone.

4. Hurry up! Everyone's waiting for us.
Have a fabulous weekend!
