Hi! Yesterday we looked at the verb breathe. Today it's the noun that we examine. This will be the key word in every expression for the rest of the week, so learn it well!

Today's LessonCATEGORY: Problem Vocabulary
BREATH   息、ひと呼吸

Explanation

  • The air that is moved into and out of your lungs (through your nose or mouth) is your breath.

A breath is also a single act of moving air into your lungs and then out again.

    Be careful:
Breath is a noun and does NOT have an "-e" at the end. Breathe is a verb and DOES have an "-e" at the end.
  • breath は、口や鼻を通して、肺に取り入れたり、肺から出したりする空気のこと、つまり、息のことです。

    breath は、肺に空気を取り入れて空気を出すという1サイクル、つまり、ひと呼吸、という意味にもなります。

    注意:
    breath は名詞で、語尾にe が付きません。breathe は動詞で、語尾にe が付きます。
