Conventional wisdom may, at first glance, seem to justify combining forces in business. Consider, for example, these pearls of wisdom: “There's strength in numbers.” “Two heads are better than one.” “Vessels large may venture more, but little boats should keep near shore.”

But then there are equally eloquent arguments in favor of going solo: “Two captains sink the ship.” “The bigger they are the harder they fall.” “Two wrongs don't make a right.”

It's comforting to know that sometimes even the wise disagree!

Explanation
