Explanation

  • To work on something means to spend time and effort doing it.
  • work on something は、何かをするために努力をし、時間を使う、つまり、何かに取り組む、という意味です。

examples

  1. a: What are you working on?
    b: I'm trying to balance our accounts from last quarter.
  2. Try not to disturb John today. He's working on his term paper, and it's due tomorrow.
  3. a: Do you want to get together for a drink tonight?
    b: I can't. I have to work on my presentation for tomorrow.
  4. I've been working on this proposal for the last six months. I'll be happy when it's all over.
  5. How many people are working on this project?
