DELAYED / (flight) DELAY 遅れた/(フライトの)遅れ
- If something is delayed, it happens later than scheduled or expected.
Such a situation (for example, when a flight is delayed) is called a delay (noun). - delayed とは、何かが予定や予期されていたよりも遅れて起こる、という意味です。
例えば、飛行機の遅れのことは、delay (名詞)といいます。
- The start of the baseball game was delayed due to rain.
- Sorry we're late. We were delayed by traffic.
- My flight out of London was delayed for two hours, so I missed my connecting flight in Amsterdam.
- The heavy snow is causing many delays.
- You can expect long flight delays because of the airline workers' strike.
- I'm sorry, but there has been a delay in shipping your order.
