Here are two very different kinds of tests. Which do you prefer?

Today's LessonCATEGORY:
WRITTEN TEST / ORAL TEST

Explanation

  • A written test or written examination is a test in which you write your answers (on paper, on a computer, etc.).

An oral test or oral examination is a test in which you give your answers by speaking rather than writing.

Be Careful! We do NOT usually use the expression “paper test” like the Japanese ペーパーテスト to mean written test.

examples

  2. Students who pass the written test will be invited back to take the oral test on the following day.
