This week we'll continue our look at companies. We'll also be introducing you to some other common types of organizations. By the end of the week, you should have a word to identify most kinds of organizations you're likely to encounter!
COOPERATIVE 協同組合
- A cooperative is a business that is owned and operated by its members, who share the profits and other benefits. In many cases, members are also the people who use the business' services.
- cooperative とは、会員が所有、運営する組織、つまり、協同組合のことで、収益その他の利益は会員の間で分配されます。多くの場合、会員はその組織が提供するサービスの利用者でもあります。
- The farm is run by a cooperative of 16 members, who share in the work and decision-making.
- I'm a tenant and part owner of a cooperative apartment building.
- I usually shop at the Berlitz Grocery Cooperative. They've got a lot of organic produce and natural foods, and prices for members are very reasonable.
