Explanation

  • To consider something is to think about it, especially in a formal situation or when the subject is important.

    Be Careful! Although we say “think ABOUT something”, we do NOT say “consider ABOUT something”.
  • consider は、何かについて考える、という意味です。特に、公式な状況や、検討の対象が重要であるときに使います。

    注意:think ABOUT something という表現はありますが、consider ABOUT something とは言いません。

  1. Of course I want to marry Jill, but she says she won't even consider marriage until I graduate.
  2. (information for students applying to a university)
    Please give us 8 to 10 weeks to consider your application.
  3. a: Where do you think Nathan and I should go on our honeymoon?
    b: Have you considered going on a cruise?
  4. Have you ever considered what it would be like to live without electricity?
