Explanation

  • A frying pan or skillet is a flat, shallow, usually metal container with a long handle used for frying food on a stove.

    Be Careful! The expression “fry pan”, like the Japanese フライパン, is less common than frying pan.
  • frying pan または skillet とは、コンロの上で食べ物を炒めるのに使う平たくて浅い調理器具のことで、たいてい、金属製で長い柄が付いています。

    注意：日本語では「フライパン」と言いますが、英語ではfry panよりも frying pan と言う方が一般的です。

  1. (part of a recipe)
    Saute the chicken breasts in a large frying pan until golden brown, add the cream and white wine, cover and cook over low heat for ten minutes.
  2. You'd better let the frying pan soak in water for a little while, otherwise it's going to be hard to clean.
