For Life
2007.03.30(Review of 2001.11.20 edition)

Hurrah! It's Friday! Let's have some fun, shall we?

Here's a place where people are transformed: pull over and park here, step out of your car, and - in the blink of an eye - motorist becomes pedestrian!

Today's Lesson
CURB   縁石

Explanation

  • A curb is the hard, usually concrete or stone edge of a sidewalk that separates it from the street.
  • curb は、車道と歩道の境にある歩道の縁のことで、通常、コンクリートまたは石でできた、歩道の端の硬い部分のことです。

examples

  1. If you park on the street, please try to park as close to the curb as possible.
  2. Pedestrians should stop at the curb and wait for the light to change before crossing the street.
  3. Be careful not to drive over the curb. You'll damage the tires!
