ちょっと待って。/少々お待ち下さい。
- To tell someone on the phone to wait, you can say Just a minute. or, in more formal situations, One moment, please.
- 電話で相手に待って欲しいと伝えるとき、Just a minute. と言います。もっとあらたまった場面では、One moment, please. という表現を使います。
- (answering the phone at home)
a: Hello?
b: Hi! Is Theresa there?
a: Yes, she is. Just a minute, please. - a: I'd like to speak to the director, please.
b: One moment, please. I'll transfer your call. - (calling a hotel)
a: Do you have any rooms available for the 20th of August?
b: One moment, please, while I check our reservations.
