Explanation

  • The price (noun) of an item is the amount of money you have to pay for it.

    To price (verb) something is to set a price for it.
  • 名詞の price は、ある商品に対して支払うべき金額、つまり、価格のことです。

    動詞の price は、価格を設定する、という意味です。

  1. (a married couple shopping for antiques)
    a: Isn't this lamp beautiful?
    b: Yes, but did you see the price? $400! We can't afford that.
  2. Check out this Web site. They sell brand-name cosmetics at discount prices - some for as much as 50 percent off the list price (= price suggested by manufacturer).
  3. (business owner to employee)
    See if you can find a reasonably priced restaurant that we can rent out for this year's Christmas party.
  4. These printers are normally priced at 40,000 yen each, but they've agreed to sell us twenty at half price.
