Some say that the best trips are spontaneous and unpredictable, while others prefer to spend hours on the Internet arranging every last detail. The WordMaster - always a fan of the middle way - believes there's value in both approaches!

PLANS   計画

Explanation

  • If someone has plans for the evening, the weekend, summer vacation, etc., they've decided to do something or arranged to do something at that time.

Be Careful! We usually do NOT use the singular form “plan” in this way. For example, you should ask someone “What ARE your PLANS for Sunday?” not “What IS your PLAN for Sunday?”
  • has[have] plans と言うと、夜、週末、夏休みなどに、何かをすると決めている、または、準備している、という意味です。

注意:ふつう、このような用法の時には、単数形の plan は使いません。例えば、What IS your PLAN for Sunday? ではなく、What ARE your PLANS for Sunday? と言います。
