Greetings! Here's the fourth in our series of “S” words that describe some less-appealing qualities sometimes found in co-workers, friends, family, and - dare we say it? - even ourselves!
STUBBORN 頑固な
- Someone who is stubborn refuses to change their opinions, the way they do things, etc.
- stubborn とは、自分の意見や、物事の進め方を変えることを嫌がる、つまり、頑固な、という意味です。
- Why do you have to be so stubborn all the time? Can't you do what I ask just this once?
- (to a friend, quietly so her husband Jack can't hear)
I'm sorry we're late. We got lost on the way, and Jack was too stubborn to stop and ask for directions. - She can be a very strong, stubborn woman. Once she makes up her mind, she rarely changes it.
Never give up!
