  • To be sure is to be certain.
  • be sure とは、確信している、確かである、という意味です。



  1. I'm sure you'll win first prize. You always do.
  2. a: When does the movie start?
    b: I'm not sure. Let me check the schedule.
  3. (two friends trying to catch a bus)
    a: Which bus stop does it leave from?
    b: I'm not sure, but I think it's that one over there.
  4. If you're not sure about the spelling, look it up in the dictionary.
  5. (after waiting 15 minutes for someone to come)
    a: Are you sure this is where we're supposed to meet her?
    b: Yes, I'm sure.
  6. (while her friend is changing a flat tire)
    a: Are you sure you know what you're doing?
    b: Yes, don't worry. I've changed dozens of tires.
