Today's WordMaster concerns a form of advertising that may not always be welcome, but that is certainly a fact of life!
- Junk mail is advertising material that has been sent by post to a large number of people at the same time, but which wasn't asked for and (often) isn't wanted.
Spam is similar to junk mail, but is sent by e-mail instead of by post. - junk mail
- Whenever I get a letter in the mail addressed to “Resident”, I know without even opening it that it's junk mail.
- When we got back from our vacation, the mailbox was filled with junk mail.
- Do you know a good way I can reduce the amount of junk mail and spam I get?
- My e-mail software includes spam protection.
See you tomorrow - if we can slip past your spam filter!
