Greetings!
We had such a good time last week looking at words about words and books about words that we've decided to keep the series alive for another week. Let's start with a word that's of tremendous help when ONE is just not enough!
PLURAL (n.) 複数形
- The plural of a noun is the form of the noun that's used to talk about more than one person, place, or thing.
- plural とは、複数の人、場所、物について話すときに用いる名詞の形、つまり、複数形のことです。
- To form (= make) the plural of most nouns, just add “s” or “es”. For example, the plural of “cat” is “cats,” and the plural of “box” is “boxes.”
- a: What's the plural of “crisis”?
b: “Crises.” (pronounced “CRY-seez”) - a: The plural of “tooth” is “teeth,” right? So does that mean the plural of “toothbrush” is “teethbrush”?
b: Of course not. It's “toothbrushes.” - (crossword puzzle clue)
Plural of “child.”**
Enjoy the day!
