Hello again! If you find the “bite” of a comb's teeth a little too rough, you may prefer the gentler touch of one of these!
BRUSH ブラシ、刷毛、ブラシをかける、(歯)をみがく
- A brush (noun) is a tool - often made of plastic or wood - with a large number of short, stiff pieces of plastic, animal hair, wire, etc., that's used to make your hair neat, to clean or paint surfaces, etc.
A toothbrush is a brush that's used to clean your teeth.
Be Careful! We do NOT say “TEETH-brush.”
To brush (verb) your hair is to make it neat with a brush.
To brush your teeth is to clean them with a toothbrush. - brush は、たくさんの短くかたいプラスチック、動物の毛、ワイヤーなどを束ねたものを、プラスチックや木の台に取り付けたもので、髪を整えたり、物をみがいたり、塗ったりするのに使う道具、つまり、ブラシ、刷毛のことです。
toothbrush は、歯をみがくためのブラシ、つまり、歯ブラシのことです。
注意:teethbrush とは言いません。
brush your hair と言うと、ブラシで髪をとかす、brush your teeth は、歯ブラシで歯をみがく、という意味になります。
