Explanation

  • An ancestor is someone in your family who lived a long time ago; for example, your great-great-grandparents.

    The adjective form is ancestral.
  • ancestor とは、例えば自分の高祖父母のように、ずっと昔に生きていた自分の一族の中の誰か、つまり、先祖、祖先のことです。

    形容詞形は ancestral で、先祖(祖先)の、という意味です。
