TIP チップ、チップを渡す

A tip (noun) is extra money you give to someone - such as a waiter, bellboy, or taxi driver - to thank them for their help. You can “give a tip” or - when you put the tip on your table at a restaurant, on your bed at a hotel, etc. - “leave a tip.”

To tip (verb) someone is to give them a tip.

Be Careful! The word tip begins with a “t” NOT “ch”. So we do NOT pronounce tip “chip”, like the Japanese チップ.
名詞の tip は、（ウエイター、ベルボーイ、タクシー運転手などに）サービスへのお礼の意味で余分に渡すお金のことです。give a tip という言い方をしたり、（レストランのテーブルや、ホテルのベッドなどにチップを置く場合は） leave a tip という言い方をしたりします。

動詞の tip は、チップを渡す、という意味です。

注意：tip の発音は “ch” ではなく “t” で始まります。日本語の「チップ」のように chip とは発音しません。
