TURN DOWN (= refuse) 断る、拒否する、却下する
- To turn down something (for example, an offer or request) or someone is to refuse or reject them.
- turn down とは、何か（例えば、申し出や要請など）、または誰かに対して、断る、拒否する、却下する、という意味です。
- a: Did they offer you the job?
b: Yes, but I turned it down. The salary they offered me was disappointing. - I thought we put together a terrific proposal, but they turned us down anyway.
- a: My application to their MBA program was turned down.
b: Oh, that's too bad! It must be a very competitive program if they didn't accept you.
