Explanation

  • To renovate something (especially a building) is to repair and make improvements to it in order to return it to a previous, better condition.

Renovation is the act of renovating something. Specific repairs, improvements, etc., are called renovations (with an “s”).

Be Careful! We do NOT use the words “reform” (リフォーム) or “renewal” (リニューアル) to mean renovation or renovations.
