Explanation

  • An office clerk is someone who does general office work.

    A hotel clerk is someone who checks guests in and out of a hotel. We can also call such a person a desk clerk.

    A salesclerk is someone who sells things in a store.

    Be Careful! We can also just use the word clerk alone to mean someone who does one of the above jobs.
  • office clerk は、一般的な事務をする人のことです。

    hotel clerk は、ホテルの客のチェックインやチェックアウトの手続きをする人のことです。このような人を desk clerk と言うこともできます。

    salesclerk は、お店で物を売る人のことです。

    注意: clerk という語だけでも、このような仕事をする人を表すことができます。
