EMIGRATE vs. IMMIGRATE (自国から)移住する vs. (他国に)移住する
- To emigrate FROM your own country is to LEAVE there in order to live in another country permanently.
To immigrate TO a country is to GO there from another country in order to live there permanently.
An immigrant is someone who has arrived in a country to live there permanently. - emigrate とは、他国に永住するために、自分の国を離れる、つまり、(自国から)移住する、という意味です。
immigrate とは、永住するために、ある国から別の国へ行く、つまり、(他国に)移住する、という意味です。
immigrant は、永住するために、ある国に移住してきた人、つまり、移民のことです。
