Explanation

  • If something varies, it's not always the same.

    To vary something is to change it from time to time.

    If a group of things vary, they are not all the same.

    To vary a group of things is to make it so they are not all the same.
  • something varies と言うと、何かがいつも同じではない、つまり、変わる、という意味です。

    vary something と言うと、何かを時々変える、という意味です。

    複数のものについて varyと言うと、すべてが同じではない、つまり、異なる、という意味です。

    また、vary は、複数のものがすべて同じにならないようにする、つまり、多様にする、という意味もあります。
