HOME>Word Master®>TELLING TIME 時間の言い方
Welcome back from the three-day weekend! We expect you are well rested and ready to begin your four-day work week. The weekend will be here again before you can say, "Berlitz WordMaster!" |
The easiest way to say what time it is is to say the hour followed by the number of minutes after the hour, as in eleven fifteen (= 11:15), five thirty (= 5:30), and one fifty-five (= 1:55).
(Be careful: For from 1 to 9 minutes after the hour, we put "o" -- pronounced like the letter "o" -- between the hour and the minutes, as in ten o two (= 10:02).
時間の1番簡単な言い方は、何時何分の順に言うことです。例:eleven fifteen (= 11:15), five thirty (= 5:30), one fifty-five (= 1:55).
注意: 1分過ぎから9分過ぎまでは、~時と分の間に"o"を入れます。 "o"はアルファベットを読むときと同じように「オー」と発音します。例:ten o two(= 10:02)
1. a: What time is it? b: It's seven forty-five (= 7:45).
2. a: Excuse me, do you have the time? b: Yes, it's three o five (= 3:05).
3. The train leaves at ten o seven (= 10:07). We'd better hurry. | It's "time" to say goodbye. Goodbye! |
