HOME>Word Master®>SCARF

Hello! So glad you haven't forgotten us after the weekend! By the way, how WAS your weekend? Ours couldn't have been better!

This week we talk about clothes, from winter items to year-round wear. So here's a thick, warm WordMaster to start your week with!

A scarf is a piece of cloth worn for warmth or fashion around the neck or over the head or shoulders. The English word scarf includes the meaning of both the Japanese word スカーフandマフラー.

(Be careful: The word "muffler" was once used to mean a warm scarf worn in winter, like the Japanese マフラー, but the word has become rather old-fashioned and is used less often now. Use the word scarf instead.)

1.Put a scarf around your neck or you'll catch cold!
2.My parents bought me a new wool scarf for Christmas.
3.Theresa spent two weeks knitting her boyfriend a scarf for his birthday.
4.That outfit would look great with a brightly colored silk scarf.
Take care!
