Hello! It's Friday, and that means our road trip is almost over. We have just one more WordMaster on our special "Obon" theme - road vehicles - and of course we've saved the best and biggest for last.

If you want real adventure, you've gotta get yourself one of these!

Today's LessonCATEGORY: Commonly Confused Words

Explanation

  • SUV stands for "Sport Utility Vehicle". It's a vehicle with the comfort of a passenger car, but which can be driven on and off paved roads. SUVs are often quite large, look very solid, and have a bottom that is high off the road.

RV stands for "Recreational Vehicle", a very large vehicle that is essentially a "home on wheels". Depending on the size of the RV, it may have places for sleeping, cooking, doing laundry, etc. Some RVs have their own engine, others have to be towed by another vehicle.
