CHEAT カンニングをする、ずるをする
- To cheat on a test, on homework, in a game, etc. is to do something unfair in order to get a better result.
Be careful:
We do NOT use the word "cunning" like the Japanese カンニング to mean cheat or cheating. - cheat on a test や cheat on homework、cheat in a game は、テスト、宿題、ゲームなどで、より良い結果を得るために不正をする、という意味です。
注意:
英語の cunning には、日本語の「カンニング」の意味はありません。
- Laura was caught cheating on her Spanish exam. She was copying answers from someone else's paper.
- (a teacher to her students)
Anyone found cheating on this test will be given a failing grade. - The Internet has made it much easier to cheat on homework assignments.
- a: I win!
b: You cheated!
a: I did not. I won fair and square. (= I won fairly) - (one player to another during a soccer game)
