Hi! For today's WordMaster, we're getting casual and comfortable. So loosen that tie, take off that stiff shirt, and slip on today's edition!

Explanation

  • A sweatshirt  is a piece of loose, thick-cotton clothing for the upper part of the body. It doesn't have a collar and is long-sleeved, pulled over the head, and often worn in order to stay warm while doing sports or other exercise.

    Be careful:
We do not use the word "trainer" like the Japanese トレーナ to mean sweatshirt.

examples

  1. It's still not warm enough to go jogging outside without a sweatshirt..
  2. The players usually wear sweatshirt  while they warm up and then take them off before the match begins.
  3. My teenage son wears the same pair of jeans and the same old sweatshirt  every day. I wish he would put on something nice for a change.

Have a fine day!
