I started going regularly to PTA meetings at my son's school. I'm particularly interested in what's being taught in his class. I have personal reasons for wanting to know these details about his education.

- When you have a vested interest in something, you're personally involved with it because you may benefit or get some enjoyment from it in the future.
- vested interest in something は、そこから利益を得ることができるという理由で、それに関わっている、という意味です。
- I have a vested interest in the stock market. That's why I read the financial section of the newspaper every day.
- (one assistant manger to another)
a: Why do you always go to those staff meetings? You always say they're so boring!
b: I go because I have a vested interest in our company. - The legislator refused to consider the proposal because he had no vested interest in it.
Most company employees in Japan work long hours because they have vested interests in their companies. If their companies do well, so do they!
