How do you go about preparing for a presentation? Do you try it out in front of a mirror? A colleague? Your spouse? Today we'll look at this important stage of preparation before a person takes to the stage!
DRESS REHEARSAL 予行演習、最終リハーサル
- A dress rehearsal is a final practice in which everything is done as if it were the actual event being prepared for.
- dress rehearsal は、本番と同じことをやってみる最後の稽古のことです。
- In order to get maximum benefit out of a dress rehearsal of your presentation, the lighting, visual aids, placement of the podium - everything - should be exactly as it'll be during the real thing.
- My speech was a disaster! They changed everything at the last minute - totally different from the dress rehearsal ! I couldn't work the computer, and I even tripped over the microphone cord!
-
a: That was an excellent speech! Congratulations! What's your secret?b: Thank you. I think the time I put in on dress rehearsals really paid off.
