For Life
2005.04.18(Review of 2001.02.27 edition)

Hello! It's the middle of April - a fine month in itself - and its much-loved neighbor, May, is less than two weeks away. It's hard to think of a time of year when spirits are higher and the land lovelier.

We think you'll enjoy the theme this week. It's about spending time with friends and those delightful chance encounters when you see a familiar face where you least expect it!

Today's LessonCATEGORY:
OLD FRIEND / CLOSE FRIEND

Explanation

  • A person who has been your friend for many years is an old friend.

A close friend is a very good friend.

Be careful! An old friend is NOT necessarily old in age, and a close friend does NOT necessarily live close to you.
