Hi! Today and tomorrow we'll look at two expressions that essentially mean “meet”, but pay close attention to the important difference between them. Today's meeting is planned; tomorrow's, however, happens by chance. Let's take a look!

Explanation

  • To get together with someone is to meet them, for social or business reasons.
  • get together with someone は、社交や仕事のために誰かと会う、という意味です。

examples

  1. Since my closest friend moved away to Tokyo, we're only able to get together once or twice a year.
  2. Let's get together sometime for lunch. There's so much I want to talk to you about.
  3. I got together with some old friends from high school last night. We had a great time.
