Explanation

  • To be up to speed on a task, is to be able to do it at an acceptable level of skill.

    To be up to speed with a subject, is to have the most recent information about it.
  • 仕事や作業について up to speed というと、満足な腕前でこなすことができる、という意味になります。

    何かの話題について up to speed というと、その話題についての一番新しい情報に通じている、という意味になります。
