Greetings! Take a look at today's WordMaster@Work and think about which style of management you prefer!
HANDS-ON / HANDS-OFF 自力の/人任せの
- To be hands-on is to manage something personally, rather than have others do it.
The opposite of hands-on is hands-off. - hands-on は、他の人に任せるのではなく、自ら何かを行うことを意味します。
hands-on の反対は、hands-off です。
- Jennifer is a very hands-on manager. She feels she has to make every decision, no matter how small.
- My new boss is very hands-off. I'm given a lot more responsibility now than before he took over.
- I've hired some top-notch people for my staff, so I feel comfortable taking a hands-off approach to supervising them.
Bye for now!
