SAILBOAT vs. YACHT

Explanation

  • A sailboat is a small boat with sails.

A yacht is a larger, usually expensive boat with sails and/or a motor. It often has beds, a kitchen, a toilet, etc. for longer journeys.

Be Careful! We don't usually use the word yacht like the Japanese ヨット to talk about smaller, less expensive sailboats.
