Greetings!

“Honesty is the best policy” is a saying that many of us in the West have heard since we were children. But as we get older, we may begin to wonder whether this saying is true in all situations. Think about that as we spend the coming days together. It's sure to be an interesting week - honest!

Today's LessonCATEGORY:
TELL (= teach)

Explanation

  • To tell a person something is to give them information or an order by speaking or writing.

Be Careful[1]! We do NOT usually use the word “teach” like the Japanese 教える to mean tell.

Be Careful[2]! The word tell is usually followed by the person receiving the information.
