Why not try these expressions out on your own family and teach THEM some English at the same time?
IT'S TIME (FOR BED / TO GET UP).
(寝る/起きる)時間ですよ。
- In order to tell a child that he or she should go to bed, we often use the expression It's time for bed.
We also say It's time to get up to encourage a child (or adult) to get out of bed. - 子供に、もう寝るべきだと言いたいとき、It's time for bed. という表現をよく使います。
It's time to get up. という表現は、子供(大人でも)に起きるようにと促すときに使います。
- MOTHER: It's 9:00. It's time for bed, Jenny.
CHILD: Can't I stay up a little longer? I'm not at all tired. - (mother to children)
Okay, everyone upstairs - it's time for bed. Remember, you have school tomorrow. - (husband to wife at 6:30 a.m.)
It's time to get up, honey. I'll make you some coffee.
It's time to go. Bye!
