Explanation

  • To camp is to live and sleep outdoors for a while, usually in a tent.

    This activity is called camping.

    A campground is a place for people to camp at.

    Be Careful! We say “I like CAMPING,” NOT “I like CAMP.”
  • 動詞の camp は、野外でテントなどを張って寝起きする、つまり、キャンプをする、という意味です。

    camping は、キャンプをすることです。

    campground は、キャンプをするための場所です。

    注意:I like CAMPING. とは言いますが、I like CAMP. とは言いません。

  1. We could save some money if we camped instead of staying in a hotel.
  2. a: Do you ever go camping in the summer?
    b: No. My husband can't stand the bugs and inconvenience.
  3. Camping has become so popular recently that it's hard to find a campground where you can be alone.
