- To fish is to try to catch fish (or shellfish) with a hook and line, net, etc.
- fish とは、釣り針と釣り糸や網を使って、魚や貝をとろうとする、という意味です。

b: I don't know. I've never been fishing. - Let's go fishing tomorrow. We can fish Crescent Lake.
- We saw some boats fishing for squid off the coast at night.
- This used to be a fishing village, but now it's mainly a tourist town.
- Visitors to this area are always anxious to see cormorant fishing (鵜飼い).
