2006.11.13(Review of 2005.01.26 edition)
Greetings! You are cordially invited to a special event in honor of all the boys and girls who come of age (7, 5, and 3 years old) this year. We're celebrating all week by introducing a set of words related to the care and education of small children. Enjoy!
DAY CARE (CENTER)
- Day care is a service provided outside the home for parents who, usually because they have to work, need someone to watch their children during the day.
A day care center is a place that provides day care.
Be Careful! To talk about care for the elderly, like the Japanese デイケア, we usually use the expression “ADULT day care”.
- My wife and I work while the kids are in day care.
- I can't decide if I should stay home or put Timmy in day care.
- (a 4-year old)
I've made a lot of new friends since I started going to day care. - Do you know a good day care center in the area?
- (a fictional advertisement)
The Berlitz Day Care Center offers day care services for children ages 2 to 10.
Take care!
