For Life
2006.12.13(Review of 2002.02.21 edition)

When the difference between bringing back a medal and leaving the Games empty-handed is measured in hundredths of a second, it pays to keep your eyes on the clock!

Today's Lesson

Explanation

  • An athlete's time in a race is how many seconds, minutes, or hours it takes him or her to finish.

If an athlete's time is better (= shorter) than anyone else's in the past, we say it is a record time.
