- Sick leave is time you take off from work because of illness.
Vacation leave is time you take off from work to travel or to relax at home.
Maternity leave is time you take off from work to have a baby. - sick leave とは、病気のために仕事を休む期間のことです。
vacation leave とは、旅行をしたり、家でくつろいだりするために仕事を休む期間のことです。
maternity leave とは、出産をするために仕事を休む期間のことです。
- I've already used up all my sick leave. I hope I won't have to stay in this hospital much longer.
- I have ten days of unused vacation leave from last year. That means I can take thirty days of vacation this year!

An employee who is expecting a child can take up to 18 weeks of maternity leave. At least two weeks of leave must be taken before the date on which the baby is expected to be born.
