Warm greetings to you!
This week we've got a sweet set of words to help you talk about what people do when behind the wheel of a car. We start with a word that's the key to a variety of important expressions about driving. So keep your eyes on the road and enjoy the ride!
(TRAFFIC) LANE 車線
- A traffic lane is a marked division of a road, wide enough for one line of vehicles and meant to separate those vehicles from other traffic moving in different directions and at different speeds.
- traffic lane とは、線によって区切られた道路の一部分、つまり、車線のことです。車が縦一列になって通行するのに十分な幅があり、そこを走る車両を、異なる方向や異なる速度の通行から隔てる線です。
- Get in the left lane and turn left at the next stoplight.
- Always remember to signal before you change lanes.
- A new four-lane highway is being built between the city center and the new airport.
- Maybe you'd better move into the fast lane? We're supposed to be at the airport in five minutes!
- You're not supposed to drive in the bus lane between 7 and 9:30 in the morning.
- The police stopped me for driving in the car pool lane without any passengers in the car.
We'll see you in the fast lane!
