What's your favorite festival fare (= food)? Here are a couple of ours!
COTTON CANDY / CORN ON THE COB
- Cotton candy is a sweet, sticky mass of thin threads made from melted sugar, usually eaten on a stick at amusement parks, festivals, and other special events.
Corn on the cob is corn that is cooked with the grains still attached to the hard, cylindrical (= shaped like a thick stick) core.
corn on the cob
- I promised my daughter that I'd buy her some cotton candy at the festival.
- Let me know if you see a food stall selling cotton candy.
- In the U.S., they often eat corn on the cob with melted butter and salt, but in Japan they usually brush on some soy sauce.
- We're barbecuing steaks and corn on the cob for dinner.
That was WordMaster at its most mouth-watering!
