GO BY (= pass)   (時が)経つ、通過する

Explanation

  • If time, or a period of time, goes by, it passes.

    If someone or something (for example, a car) goes by, it moves past you.
  • 時間や一定の期間について go by を使った場合は、経過するという意味です。

    人や物、例えば、車などについて go by を使った場合は、それが通り過ぎる、という意味になります。
