It almost seems to be stating the obvious, but this week's theme is “Autumn.” What else could it be, right? Anyway, we'll do our best to make these editions as fresh and invigorating as the season. Thanks for joining us!

CHANGE COLOR / AUTUMN LEAVES   紅葉する/紅葉

Explanation

  • In autumn, when the leaves become red, yellow, and orange, we say that the leaves change color.

    Autumn leaves are leaves that have changed color. We can also use the phrase autumn colors to talk about the beautiful colors of woods, hills, etc., in autumn.
  • 秋に、葉が赤色、黄色、オレンジ色に変わること、つまり、紅葉することを、the leaves change color と言います。

    紅葉した葉のことを autumn leaves と言います。また、紅葉した森や丘などの美しい色のことを autumn colors と言うことができます。
