- Ideas, policies, etc., are progressive if they are new and improve on those of the past.
A person or organization is progressive if it's quick to try or accept new and improved ways of doing things. - 考え方、方針などについて progressive と言うと、新しく、今までのものよりも改善されている、つまり、進歩的な、という意味です。
人や組織について progressive と言うと、新しく、改善されたやり方をすぐに試したり、受け入れたりする、という意味です。
- She's a young, energetic director with progressive ideas. So it's not surprising that she's already had some run-ins with the more conservative members of management.
- Environmental NGOs continue to urge the government to adopt more progressive policies on global climate change.
- California has a history of progressive leadership. Many new laws got their start there before spreading to the rest of the country.
