Happy Friday!

We end our series on houses and homes with an edition that covers a lot of ground - literally!

Today's LessonCATEGORY:

Explanation

  • A floor is the surface of a room that you walk, sit, or sleep on.

A tatami floor is made from mats of tatami, often around 180cm x 90cm in size.

A hardwood floor is made by joining together many pieces of hard, heavy wood such as oak, cherry, or maple.

Be Careful! We do NOT use the word “flooring” like the Japanese フローリング to mean hardwood floor.
